These pictures are intended to illustrate the duality of Qatar. I have focused on roads and doorways as each is symbolic of a transition from one space to another, mirroring the changing landscape of Doha. Doorways are also an important symbol in many Islamic cultures.

Hey!
You are very true in saying that alot of these 'workers' as we call them out here in Doha are treated terribly, and alot of the time they are indeed dragged from their home countries and told that their family will be raped and killed if they do not comply.
But there are also a lot of them who come here out of choice if they were not able to have a good enough income back in their home countries to feed their families.
And conditions are dangerous for us all out here... Not only the workers who are making out buildings but we who live in these buildings and drive on these roads due to the lack of training (i.e. no training!) that these workers have had!
It is a regular site to see walls ready to fall under themselves (this was slowly happening in my back garden last month and i have an 8 year old sister running around the house!)
Very interesting view you have there though and well portrayed in your photographs!
You must warn me if you are entering Doha any time soon again and we should talk photography and political matters!
